Travelling to Lake Como | Se rendre au lac de Côme

Lake Como is a dreamscape of dramatic mountains, charming villages, and sparkling water. Whether you're arriving from Milan or already lakeside, we've outlined the most convenient travel options below to help you plan your journey with ease.

    • By car: ~1.5 hours (pre-booked transfer recommended, ~€150–€200)

    • By train:

      • Take the Malpensa Express to Milan Centrale (~50 min)

      • From Centrale, transfer to a regional train (see Panel 2)

    • To Como San Giovanni: ~40 min, direct

    • To Varenna-Esino: ~1 hour, very scenic and great ferry connections

    • Tickets cost ~€5–€9; purchase at the station or via Trenitalia

    • Booking in advance is highly encouraged

    • Ferries connect all the key towns: Como, Bellagio, Varenna, Menaggio, Tremezzo

    • Best for: exploring once you’re in Como or Varenna

    • Schedules vary seasonally — check navigazionelaghi.it for latest info

    • Tip: Fast ferries (hydrofoils) are quicker but cost slightly more

Given the destination and the travel involved, your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for.

For those who would like to go the extra mile, we would be deeply grateful for a contribution toward our honeymoon or to help us furnish our new home in London.

*We kindly request no boxed or physical gifts on the day, as we’ll already have a few things to bring back from Italy.

  • The main celebrations run from June 18–21, 2026. We recommend arriving by June 17th and leaving on or after June 22nd to enjoy the full experience without rushing.

  • The ceremony will be conducted in English, with select speeches in French. We’ll provide translations of all speeches in both languages so everyone can follow along and feel included.

  • Yes — we’ll be organizing group transportation to and from the main events. More details will be shared closer to the date, including pickup points and timings.

  • Expect warm, sunny days (25–30°C / 77–86°F) and cooler evenings. We recommend breathable fabrics, comfortable shoes (especially for cobblestones), and a shawl or blazer for nighttime.
